Taking a class gives you a taste of what is involved. It also acts as a safety net. You can ask questions and get help if you get stuck. Learn at your own pace. This is a great way to make time for yourself.

It is important to learn the tricks of the trade so to speak, so you aren’t frustrated or trying to figure out what you need to do. There can be important safety rules to follow to prevent accidents.

You can find local hands-on craft classes and workshops through community studios and specialty art shops. Whether through the school district community classes or one of the many “Make and Take” shops, you can sign up for a variety of Classes.
Some classes you will find enjoyable as a one time experience, while others may peak your interest to pursue as a new hobby.

Using a pottery wheel takes practice but a nice piece of pottery is exciting!
Using your hands to be creative helps you slow down and unplug for a while. You can tap into the creative part of your brain that may be itching to get out. You can make new friends, learn new skills and make something you are proud of.
