Two Ingredient Bagels

This recipe will blow you away! Bagels made with only two ingredients, baked AND packed with protein!

Gather your ingredients

1 -cup whole milk cottage cheese (4%)

1 -cup self leveling flour

1 -egg with a little water for an egg wash

Mixing the ingredients

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a baking sheet.

Recipe makes 4 bagels.

First, blend the cottage cheese until smooth, then add flour.

Next, mix to combine and knead into a ball.

Add additional flour as needed so the dough isn’t sticky.

Now, shape the dough into a round disk.

Then, cut into four equal pieces.

Shaping the dough

  • Roll each piece of dough into a log about five inches long.
  • Twist to shape into a round.
  • Pinch the ends together.
  • Place on the greased baking sheet.

The egg wash

  • Mix one egg with a small amount of water.
  • Brush the tops of the bagels with the wash.

Topping it off

Now you can sprinkle everything bagel seasoning, cinnamon/sugar, garlic salt or cheese on top.

I am making Asiago cheese bagels today. Grate the cheese, then add it to the tops of the bagels in the last 5-7 minutes of baking.

This prevents the cheese from burning.

Bake

Bake at 350 degrees for 22-25 minutes. Turn the sheet half way through baking.

Then add the cheese during the last 5-7 minutes.
